Love INC Resale Store
The Purpose
The Love INC Resale Store serves three main purposes in our ministry; when you donate items to Love INC you help us achieve these goals:
- To produce revenue to assist and expand the Love INC Ministry through the sale of donated items. Some current areas of ministry provided by Love INC and our partner churches include:
- Community Food Pantry
- Financial Management and Personal Growth Classes
- Bunk Bed Ministry
- Wood Ministry
- Clothing Ministry
- Backpacks for School
- Financial Assistance

- To provide Christian volunteers opportunities for service and ways to use their gifts and talents.
Who can shop at the Love INC Resale Store?
The answer is everyone! The Love INC Resale Store is open to the public; it’s a great place to shop for good quality, low-priced, household items, clothing, furniture, appliances, books, beds, holiday items and more. In addition to providing revenue for the ministry, the resale store also allows us to provide household items and clothing to families in need free of charge or at a reduced rate.

Where do items sold in the resale store come from?
Items sold in the Love INC Resale Store are donated by generous community members, churches, and local organizations. All donations are tax deductible.
What types of donations will the Love INC Resale store accept?
Our Resale Store accepts gently used clothing, gently used furniture, electric appliances in working condition, gently used mattresses and box springs, household items (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, linens, blankets, etc.), toys, books, holiday decorations and more. Basically, we take just about anything another family could use as long as it is in good condition.
Note: We do ask that heavy items, such as sofa sleepers, be located on the ground floor if you would like our volunteers to pick such items up.

Will Love INC pick up donated items?
The Love INC Truck Ministry will pick up larger, hard to transport items such as furniture and appliances. Due to the cost of gas, we do ask community members to please drop smaller items (clothing, dishes, housewares, etc.) off at our store receiving area during regular business hours. If we are already scheduled to pick up furniture/appliance items from you, our volunteers will take the smaller items as well.
If you would like us to pick up gently used furniture and/or appliance items, please contact the Love INC office at 231.652.4099 to schedule the pick up.
Please note: If you live outside of our pick-up area (20 miles from our store) we will schedule a pick up for a $15 donation.
What happens to donated items that don’t sell in the store?
We try to be good stewards with all donated items. Unfortunately, not every item is given away or sold. As “new” product comes in, we must rotate our inventory. When an item does not sell, we try to pass it on for use by another ministry or organization. Some of the current ministries and organizations receiving items from Love INC include:
- Mel Trotter Ministry: Clothing
- Local church mission groups: We encourage our churches going on mission trips to give us a list of items they intend to take with them (clothing, dishes, etc.) and we try to collect the items for them free of charge
- Local schools: Hats, mittens, play clothes
- Seasonal Worker/Migrant Programs: Sweaters, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, bedding, dishes
- Goodwill: Computers, printers, other electronic items
Are there volunteer opportunities at the Love INC Resale Store?
It takes several volunteers to keep the Love INC Resale Store and Truck Ministry operating six days each week. Some of the volunteer opportunities offered through the store include:
- Donation Sorters
- Clothing Preparation Volunteers (pricing, cleaning, & hanging, etc.)
- Houseware Preparation Volunteers (cleaning & pricing household items)
- Store Cashiers
- Display Volunteers
- Furniture Room Workers
- Delivery/Pick-up Truck Volunteers

What is the Love INC Annual Auction?
Each spring Love INC holds an annual auction and bake sale where antique and collectible items, donated to our resale store throughout the previous year, are auctioned off. Baked goods provided by our staff and volunteers are sold in a silent auction prior to the start of the main auction. In addition to the antique and collectible items, local businesses often donate new items or gift certificates to be auctioned off as well. All proceeds from the auction are used to assist families in Newaygo County.
