Quilt Ministry

Many Gap Ministries begin with an idea from a pastor, community member, or a church volunteer.  In 2010, one of our dedicated volunteers came to us with an idea for using the donated fabric our resale store receives.  She asked if she could gather some ladies once a month to make quilts.  Of course we said yes! What a blessing those quilts have been. Beautiful handmade quilts have been given to families in need, to residents in area nursing homes, to school children, and to the local women’s resource center.  Quilts are also given to children receiving new bunk beds through our Bunk Bed Ministry.  

Your church, youth group, or small group might consider taking on a quilting collection project. Place some boxes at the doors of the church and ask people to donate quilting material, batting, and thread…it’s a great way to bring a smile to someone’s face while keeping them warm all over!
