Growing Hope: Relational Ministry (Money Management & Personal Growth Classes)

Love INC Relational Ministry trains Christian Volunteers from many different churches to walk alongside people in need for an extended period (generally, up to one year) in order to help them overcome their challenges and move toward self-sufficiency.

 Skills training, mentoring, goal-setting, church and community resources, and spiritual and emotional support are brought around individuals and families to provide a holistic approach to meeting their needs. The program creates accountability and is incentive-based.  This program is designed to assist people facing financial challenges. Prospective participants are referred to the Relational Ministry Program from the Love INC Clearinghouse, agencies, and churches. An orientation and an interview is conducted with each potential participant to determine if they qualify. The Money Management program is in two segments: a 7-week Budget Skills Class and mentoring, for up to a year.

Program participants enrolled in either the budget class or mentoriing are also elgible to participate in personal growth classes. These classes are optional to participants. Personal Growth Classes address a variety of needs beyond financial–emotional, spiritual, physical, etc. Classes many include Bible studies, gift making, job skills, life skills, cooking on a budget, car care, health and nutrition, home repair, parenting, and more.      

It takes a large commitment of volunteers to make the program a success. We need budget class teachers, budget mentors (for individuals & groups), personal growth class teachers, class assistants, childcare providers, registration volunteers and hospitality volunteers.
